After a headline moves a stock, you need more than one indicator to judge whether the move has follow-through. This stack combines candles, MACD, Bollinger Bands, and volume so each answers a different question.

The stack

  • Candle chart: what price is doing now.
  • MACD: whether momentum is improving or fading.
  • Bollinger Bands: whether price is compressed, stretched, or reverting.
  • Volume: whether the move has participation.
  • Support and resistance: where the trade is invalidated.

When signals disagree, wait. The market will always offer another setup; protecting capital is part of any strategy built around news-driven moves.

Company metrics belong in investing, not noise trading

For short-horizon trades we focus on price action and liquidity. For investing we study earnings per share, market cap, revenue growth, margins, debt, and free cash flow — covered in our Investing section.
